This month, we travelled quite a bit to bring you the issue. We were in Sweden to sample the new 718 Cayman which gets a smaller engine ‘oh so right’. While on the subject of smaller engines, we also drove Mercedes’ replacement for the SLK, the all-new SLC 43 AMG. Who says turbocharging is just a passing fad? Of course, we had to balance out shrinking displacements with something. So, we got behind the wheel of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport. Ah, the sweet feel of good ol’ natural aspiration. Then, there was a brief foray into neighbouring Pakistan to catch a glimpse of one of the most interesting collections of classic Mercs on the sub-continent. Speaking of interesting, we let the Volvo S60 Cross Country and the BMW X1 have a go at each other, picked a driver’s sedan between the Linea 125 S and VW Vento TSI, took a Harley Softail Classic fort hunting in Rajasthan and rode a RE Himalayan below sea level. Aprilia’s first scooter for India, the SR150, makes an appearance, as does the Ninja-rivalling RSV4. Also in this issue, the GLC 300 Coupe, the Isuzu V-Cross D-Max, the Rolls-Royce Dawn and the Hero Splendor iSmart. And of course, there’s the usual dose of automotive news, motorsport action and a whole lot more. Catch it all in TopGear India’s September 2016 issue.
